If the aluminum wire is not pure enough or the evaporation control is improper, the impurities in the evaporation will form aluminum explosion marks and remain on the surface of the plastic part. If the evaporation temperature is too high or too low, and the evaporator surface temperature is unstable, small particles will be left on the aluminum coating surface (observe with the light). Poor vacuum will lead to unqualified coating adhesion, Poor control of coating flow will also lead to coating color, etc. Therefore, aluminum plating is a comprehensive manufacturing process that integrates working environment, processing equipment, personnel technology, material target and process control.

The performance of aluminum plating depends on the quality of plastic parts and coating layer, which is jokingly called the game of the rich, indicating that the requirements for coating quality are quite high. The key of coating quality is the quality of primer. Although there is no primer coating, its mold quality requirements and costs are high, and there are problems such as insufficient aluminized reflection brightness and plastic defects, which easily lead to high scrap rate of aluminized products. Generally speaking, the scrap rate without primer is about 10%, and that with primer is about 20%, or even higher. In order to solve this problem, some domestic manufacturers, after more than 10 years of efforts, have adopted the method of spraying primer in the furnace and curing to make the plated parts generate bright surfaces (no pollution residues), carry out high-pressure ion cleaning pretreatment, vacuum evaporation aluminum plating and protective film plating, so that the product qualification rate is more than 98%, which can save a lot of energy consumption and labor costs for painting and baking paint every year.
